APSCA welcomes CSCAs to the Stakeholder Advisory Board (SAB)

APSCA is pleased to welcome our first cohort of Certified Social Compliance Auditors (CSCAs) to the Stakeholder Advisory Board (SAB) following a highly competitive selection process.

The newly selected CSCAs are Haricleea Spaler, Thembani Ncube, Rachelle Hernandez, and Susan Yeh. Their appointment brings additional field-based insights to APSCA’s advisory discussions.

The SAB provides APSCA with external perspectives on issues affecting the profession. The SAB’s members include representatives from brands and retailers, collaborative programs and schemes, independent experts, and now, practicing CSCAs. The addition of the auditor voice strengthens the SAB’s ability to more deeply consider ideas and ensure APSCA’s work reflects practical realities across diverse auditing environments.

CSCAs will participate as independent experts, contributing their professional experience rather than representing any organization or audit firm. This supports APSCA’s commitment to balanced multi-stakeholder input within its advisory structure.

Selection process

APSCA invited CSCAs to apply in April 2026 and received a strong pool of candidates across all regions. Applications were reviewed through a structured process, with shortlisted candidates interviewed by the SAB Co-Chairs. Final selection considered professional experience, practical insight, geographic representation, and balance across the SAB’s multi-stakeholder composition.

As SAB Co-Chairs Linda Kromjong and Craig Moss noted:

“We were very impressed by the depth and breadth of experience reflected across the CSCA applications. The selected CSCAs bring perspectives from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Africa, helping ensure that practical auditor experience from different regions is reflected in SAB discussions.

“One of the strengths of the SAB is the diversity of perspectives around the table, including brands, programs, independent experts, and now CSCAs. Bringing these voices together helps APSCA test ideas from different parts of the social compliance ecosystem and strengthens the relevance of its work.”

Looking ahead

The new SAB members will join the upcoming SAB meeting in November, and APSCA looks forward to the practical insight they will bring to future discussions.

APSCA will continue to create opportunities for Member Auditors to engage through consultations and future participation initiatives, and to connect with professional development opportunities, including at the APSCA Annual Meeting of Members & Stakeholders (AMMS) in Bangkok, taking place in November 2026.
