APSCA Expands Leadership Team with New Global Roles in External Affairs and Communications Based in Europe

The Association of Professional Social Compliance Auditors (APSCA) is pleased to announce two strategic appointments that reflect our continued commitment to increasing global visibility for the profession, advocating for social compliance, deepening stakeholder engagement, and ensuring transparent communication. Global roles but based in Europe. These roles strengthen APSCA’s support for members and partners, reinforce our governance model, and advance our mission to be the trusted, credible, and a globally recognized body for professional standards in social compliance auditing.

Karina Ufert joins APSCA as Director of External Affairs

APSCA is pleased to welcome Karina Ufert as our Director of External Affairs, a newly created position. Karina brings over 15 years of international experience at the intersection of sustainability, public policy, finance and supply chain governance with a strong track record of engaging with governments, civil society and NGOs on legislative, funding and regulatory matters.

Karina’s work portfolio will focus on engaging relevant stakeholders on current and pending legislation that could impact the social compliance auditing industry. Current and new laws in the EU, Thailand, Canada, California and more seeks to regulate corporate due diligence efforts and social compliance auditing specifically. Aligning legislation with APSCA and industry best practices and avoiding multiplicative efforts will be a key to ASPCA’s external affairs success and where Karina willbegin her efforts. Additionally, she will engage new  business and industries as they import SCA into their compliance efforts and will articulate the value of social compliance auditing.

With a grounded leadership style and strong exposure to corporate environments, Karina is known for bridging policy and practice, strategy and ethics. Her global appointment, based out of Copenhagen, reflects APSCA’s commitment to advancing professional standards and trusted supply chain assurance in a time of rapid regulatory change.

Cecile Abeille joins APSCA as Head of Global Communications

Bringing over 20 years of international experience in corporate communications, brand strategy, stakeholder engagement, and high-impact campaigns. Her career spans retail, luxury, FMCG, and sustainability sectors, where she has worked with global brands, startups, and public-private coalitions to shape narratives, manage reputational risk, and respond to evolving due diligence expectations. With expertise in both corporate and crisis communications, Cecile has led initiatives across Europe, North America, and Asia. She is driven by a strong commitment to transparency, strategic storytelling, and building partnerships that support meaningful systems change.

Based in Paris, Cecile will lead APSCA’s global communications strategy. She will oversee message alignment across stakeholder groups and channels while supporting member engagement, external visibility, and issues management. Alongside Karina, she will collaborate with APSCA’s Board of Directors, Stakeholder Advisory Board, collaborative programs, and members to reinforce governance and promote credible, widely recognized due diligence systems
